Review | Lumene Finland's Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

An essential part of skincare is removing your make up before its time to go to bed. This is especially important around the eye area as the skin is very delicate and thin. So today I am reviewing Lumene Finland's Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. This product is specially formulated for getting rid of tough eye make-up.

Ingredients: AQUA (WATER), BUTYLENE GLYCOL, POLOXAMER 184, VACCINIUM MYRTILLUS (BILBERRY) FRUIT EXTRACT, PHENOXYETHANOL, GLYCERIN, ALLANTOIN, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, DISODIUM EDTA, POLYSORBATE 20, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, DISODIUM PHOSPHATE, SODIUM PHOSPHATE.

Packaging: Blue bottle with a screw off cap, 100 ml or approx. 3.4 oz.

Pricing / Purchasing:
  • I found my in my local CVS for $7, although I am not sure they are sold in every location
  • Here on Target.com for $5.99
Color / Consistency: Clear. Thin and watery.

There are bubbles in the formulation.

Scent: Smells like a combination of perfume and natural leaves (linen seed is what I'm smelling)

Usage Tip(s):
  • Hold onto your eyelid for a few seconds before wiping the makeup away
  • Also works for regular face makeup
  • If you have really packed on the make-up then I like to use this eye makeup remover, then a Korean cleansing oil, and then a

Pros:
  • Good for sensitive skin
  • Effective in removing waterproof makeup like mascara
  • The bottle lasts for a while because the formula is pretty thin
  • Thin and light consistency
Removal of light mascara coating

Cons:
  • The product claims that "sensitive formula doesn’t leave a greasy residue" - although it doesn't leave a greasy residue, it feels like a cleansing oil. However, if you are someone who uses cold cream to remove your makeup, I have to say that this is tons better. I dislike cold creams because they are often heavy and can make your face feel greasy. This is much lighter and relatively less greasy.

Overall rating: 4.0 / 5.0

Overall a really solid eye makeup remover. Would definitely repurchase. However, I have been wanting to try micellar water especially the Garnier SkinActive Micellar All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover which has been so hyped up.

Have you tried this eye makeup remover? Do you know of one that is better? Let me know in the comment section below.
