Review | Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack

Today I am reviewing Benton's Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack. For those who have never used a snail product because it sounds gross, you should put those concerns aside. Snail essence is a highly popular ingredient in Korea, it is supposed to have wonderful healing properties due to the fact that it contains hyaluronic acid and copper peptides among other beneficial ingredients. Both hyaluronic acid and copper peptides are very helpful ingredients for repairing damaged skin and for regenerating elastin and collagen. Snail slime is also very hydrating and anti-microbial, which means it is helpful for when you have a pimple or two. The snail slime used in Korean beauty products is filtered, often multiple times to ensure purity and efficacy.

Snail mucin is nothing like I thought it would be when I first tried it - I thought it would be highly slimy, smelly and disgusting, but it is not. Because snail slime itself is over 90% water, the products that use it are also very smooth and thus go on effortlessly.

I've tried a couple of other snail based products along with this mask, namely (from left to right top to bottom) Baviphat's Snail Cure Mask Sheet, Missha's Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping MaskBenton's Snail Bee High Content EssenceI will be putting together a comprehensive posting after testing out Tony Moly's more upscale snail mask the Intense Care Snail Hydro-gel Mask

Packaging: Brown package with foil inside with a rip top. Not like those other masks that are sealed in flimsy packaging.

Pricing / Purchasing:
  • Here on eBay - 10 masks for $18, which is almost $2/mask. This is a more moderately priced snail mask especially since ones like Tony Moly's cost approx $5-$8 / sheet.
  • Here on Sokoglam - 10 masks for $20
  • Here on Memebox - 1 sheet for $2.50 for those of you who just want to sample the mask

Usage Tip(s):
  • Same as every mask usage tip - turn your mask over and rub the extra essence on your neck
  • Scoop out the extra essence in the pouch to rub over your face / neck as well
  • This particular masks should be left on for 20-30 minutes; I prefer 30 minutes!
Pros:
  • Good quality mask fibers - some masks are so thin and prone to ripping. This mask is solid and thicker the Tony Moly I'm Real Sheet Masks (review to come). I've never ripped this mask but I have ripped one of the Tony Moly I'm Real Masks.
  • Makes your face feel highly hydrated
  • Brightens the face
  • Soothes the skin, red marks appear less red immediately after use and into the next day
  • Effects are apparent until the next day - this is my benchmark for when a mask is good, your skin often looks great after using the mask
  •  This mask has a very neutral smell, slightly different than what a normal person is used to, but it is not offensive at all!

Cons:
  • I feel this mask does not fit that well. The eye-holes are a bit strange - most masks that I've used have the eyeholes completely cut out, this mask has a flap that partially covers the eye hole that you must fold down. I havn't figure out if this is just a way to deliver enhanced essence to your delicate under-eye area, but even if it is, I don't like it. I've seen pictures of the masks on other sites such as Beauty Haul Indo where you use the flap to cover your eyelids completely.

Overall rating: 4.5 / 5.0

This is a mask that keeps your skin noticeably bright. It's high quality and a definite staple in my collection.

Have you tried this Benton Mask? Thanks for reading!
