Review | Ciracle Pimple Solution Pink Powder

I recently reviewed Kate Somerville's EradiKate Acne Treatment. Now I'm following up that post with this review on Ciracle's Pimple Solution Pink Powder, which is another sulfur based product, yet with a twist - the sulfur solution is mixed with the added benefit of BHA's!

Packaging: Bottle with screw cap, 16 ml approximately 0.5 ounces

Pricing: $19, you can purchase from these retailers:
Color / Consistency: Light pink in color. Thin and watery.

Scent: Smells actually decent - almost like tea tree oil, probably because the solution is mixed with volcanic ash

Usage Tips:

  • Do not use cotton swabs that are overly "fluffy" - by that I mean where the tip is very thick - this will soak up too much product / waste product.
  • Do not mix the layers by shaking the product -  you need to see a clear liquid layer and the pink layer

Pros:
  • Unlike the EradiKate solution, this one:
    • Heals acne scars - I could slowly see them lightening up over the course of the week that I've been testing out this product
    • Has a nice cooling sensation when you apply
    • Has better staying power than the EradiKate solution - a lot of the EradiKate product rubs off often when you are sleeping at night, however because the Eradikate product is thicker, it makes up for what is lost
    • The yellow layer is a BHA / AHA combination, which is useful for exfoliating dead skin cells, the EradiKate product only has AHA
    • Lighter smell than the EradiKate solution
  • This is not really a pro / con but this product has salicylic acid for those ladies who have trouble using salicylic acid, this may not be for you. However, I haven't had any trouble with it despite having skin that is sensitive to this type of acid
  • The liquid consistency makes you not want to pick your pimples
  • Dries out pimples that you have squeezed recently, works best on the smaller pimples
Ciracle Pimple Solution on the Left | Kate Somerville's EradiKate is on the Right

Cons:
  • Unlike the EradiKate solution this one:
    • More expensive per unit price, you almost are paying double to get this product over the EradiKate product
    • Watery consistency makes the messy application even messier
  • MESSY application! I am constantly getting this all over my hands when I use it
  • Dries out fast / runs out quickly - I waste what is at the bottom because the liquid at the top that helps the sulfur solution at the bottom stay liquid gets absorbed quickly by the q-tips that you absorb
  • Does not work on whiteheads
  • Stings slightly for those of you who do not like pain
  • Does not work to reduce / lighten the appearance of scars

Overall rating: 4.0 / 5.0

Despite the messiness, I still think this is a great product as a general spot treatment. When comparing the Kate Somerville's EradiKate product with this product, in terms of efficacy, both treatments come out pretty evenly. However, I haven't used Ciracle's Pimple Solution on cystic / very angry acne yet since I haven't had an angry pustule recently. However,  I do know that Kate Somerville's product has some efficacy on cystic / angry acne.

Overall, the EradiKate product will win out because of the price - Ciracle's Pimple Solution does have some nice additional benefits, but I don't think it is worth almost double the price of the EradiKate formula.
