Review | Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II Serum

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II Serum is consistently a very highly rated product and was on sale at bonton.com, so I decided to give it a shot. I originally purchased this product was because I had read from other reviewers that it was great for fading acne scars. I am still in my twenties so this product may be a miracle worker for women who are older, especially because it is more targeted for anti-aging as opposed to fading acne scars, but it unfortunately was not a holy grail for me...

Here's my detailed review of the product:

Packaging: Dropper top, 1.0 oz, 30 ml

Pricing: $75
Excuse the water marks on the table...
Ingredients: The highlight is that it is oil free, see picture below

Lactobacillus Ferment...that's cool!

Consistency: Close to a gel, but not as thick

Scent: It smells kind of like perfume an elderly woman might use. It is not unpleasant, but it is not pleasant either.

Pros:
  • Brightening / makes your face look more radiant after application

Cons:
  • Pricey
  • Runs out quickly due to the small size
  • Although it makes your face look more radiant after application, this result did not last for me on the next day
  • Sticky and does not sink readily into the skin, it sort of sits on the top of the skin
  • Effects not readily noticeable after multiple applications and consistent use

Overall Comments: I had such high expectations. However, I do not think this product is any better than cheaper serums such as the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence (review to come) for that purpose. I also think MUAC's .30 retinol serum (review also to come) is better than this product for both acne scars and anti-aging and at a fraction of the price. Won't be repurchasing but would consider retrying when I get a little older.

Overall Rating:  3.5/5.0
